Cuba 2015

In December 2014, President Obama announced a new chapter in relations between the United States in Cuba. A few weeks later our 23 students were the first high school group to enter in over 50 years of Cold War tension. While there, students learned about the diverse nature of Cuban identity, the Afro-Caribbean roots of music and spirituality, the effects of politics on self-expression, and experienced the irrepressible, expressive spirit of the Cuban people. Upon their return, students created documentaries, blogs and photo essays on subjects ranging from how the embargo has divided families to Cuban’s deep love of baseball.
